Pamiri Melody in Mongolian Altai


The traditional song from the genre Maddo performed by a group of musicians and representatives of NGOs from the high Pamirs of Tajikistan, guests of the Altai Republic and the Mongolian Altai during the ceremony of the Holy Fire at the foot of the sacred mountain Suta Khairkhan, Khovd Aimag, Mongolia, July 2014. The composition is improvised by the group : Alibek Otambekov representative Christensen Fund, Yodgor Odinamamadov, Shavkmamad Pulodov and Tojiddin Gadomamadov, musicians from different organizations. Pamiris are a small set of Iranian peoples inhabiting the mountainous region of the Hindu Kush, Pamir, divided between Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China (south-west Xinjiang). They speak the diverse languages ​​of the Pamir eastern Iranian group of the Indo-European language family. In addition, most of the Pamir are united on the basis of  Ismaili religion.
