Guardian of a Sacred Site

Throughout much of the world, biodiversity is protected in community conserved areas by stewards like Mallabo Mancha Mazze, an Ethiopian elder and one of the guardians of the Dorbo Sacred Site. This particular elder has earned the title Halaqa for being a senior messenger of his community and a representative in neighboring community assemblies. He has also represented his community and shared Indigenous knowledge internationally at the Potato Park of Peru and with the Partnership for Agrobiodiversity.
