Café Niugini depicts 10 breathtakingly beautiful cultures in various PNG provinces which takes viewers on a culinary odyssey through the land of more than 800 tribes and delicious food recipes. Jennifer Baing tastes mangrove crab risotto of Central Province, travels along the Highlands highway participating in ground earth oven feasts, indulges in coconut cream clay pot delicacies from Kar Kar Island and the Tufi coral reef fjords and much more. A Café Niugini video series will eventually be distributed to schools and other groups along with a study guide booklet in both English and Tok Pisin. The series is designed to impress upon viewers, particularly the country’s youth, the stunning variety of local methods for growing, cooking and sharing food, and that these things are, in fact, very cool.
