Genetic diversity: The Potato Park of Peru

The aims of the Potato Park of Peru are joining forces for the conservation of native varieties of potato with traditional knowledge; improving the maintenance of agricultural production and ensuring food security. The park, with financial support from the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, The Christensen Fund and others, responds to the challenges of loss of resources caused today, among other factors, by the effect of climate change.
