Experience Bougainville

Experience Bougainville

Bougainville, an autonomous region of Papua New Guinea, is geographically part of the Soloman Islands. It is an island nation rich in biocultural diversity. With at least 24 different languages, the 200,000+ people of Bougainville are currently at a crossroads in choosing their path of development. This video features some of the sights and sounds of this beautiful place, including music and dance from the annual Reeds Festival (Kaur Festival). The Christensen Fund has been making grants to Indigenous-led organizations in Bougainville for several years, and is proud to support these resilient islanders efforts for self determination.
