Casey brings over a decade of experience with expertise in advocating for indigenous rights, participatory grantmaking, network building, and environmental issues. In 2013, after several years of supporting Land is Life, he transitioned into the role of Executive Director and has since focused on growing a broad, trusted network of Indigenous grassroots partners, which has thrived for over 25 years. Under his leadership, Land is Life directly supported over 200 grassroots causes in 2020 alone. What began as a movement at the inaugural United Nations Conference on Environment and Development has become a global network of Indigenous-led programs addressing diverse issues including security, protecting the rights of people’s living in voluntary isolation, and free, prior and informed consent. Casey has dedicated his career to supporting grassroots efforts to bolster operations and elevate Indigenous voices at the policy-making table.
