Brian Burgin is one of four Grants Managers at The Christensen Fund who work as a co-managed team overseeing all components of the foundation’s grants administration policies, procedures and operations. He serves as Team Lead for Process and Systems Management and works to refine and ensure the smooth running our grantmaking platform. Brian also currently works with our Melanesia Program to facilitate and ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance for this portfolio.
Prior to joining The Christensen Fund, Brian was an information technology consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing systems and technical expertise to a range of institutions from Dodge & Cox in San Francisco to the WestCoast Children’s Clinic in Oakland. He spent over a decade working with the U.S. Department of Labor and was involved in the management and monitoring of grants made by the Federal Government to agencies and non-profit organizations devoted to serving military veterans. Brian has extensive experience with Excel and data management applications and is versed in several computer-programming languages.
Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. When not obsessively following American football he gives sufficient affection and space to Bartleby the Cat, which he rescued from a local animal shelter.
